HeBS Digital Wins 2012 Travel Weekly Magellan Awards For Excellence in Website Design and Multichannel Marketing

Shell Vacations Hospitality Earns Second Consecutive AMA Phoenix Award for Black Friday Campaign

Shell Vacations Hospitality (SVH) is excited to announce the receipt of two AMA Phoenix Awards for its Black Friday Campaign and site redesign. The Tenth Annual AMA Phoenix Spectrum Awards, distributed May 9, were given to the best and brightest of the marketing world, with categories ranging from Interactive/Online to Print to Direct Response.
Shell Vacations Hospitality won awards in the following categories:

  • Interactive/Online – Microsite for the Black Friday Campaign
  • Interactive/Online – Website – E-Commerce for the http://www.shellhospitality.com redesign

The Black Friday Travel Sale took the best Interactive/Online – Microsite title for the second consecutive year, offering users a unique special each day for a month, leading up to a four-day sale period during which time users could win gift cards and hotel stays in exchange for email and text opt-ins. Launched by SVH and HeBS Digital, the campaign generated a 50% year-over-year increase in revenue over last year’s award-winning sale.

The redesigned http://www.shellhospitality.com boasted easy-to-use drop-down menus, a built-in online reservations system and vivid images of Shell’s resorts and hotels. Designed by HeBS Digital, the site operates as a portal to more information about Shell Vacations’ various properties and a travel guide to dozens of destinations.

Wyndham Vacation Ownership Acquires Shell Vacations LLC

PARSIPPANY, NJ, September 14, 2012 – Wyndham Worldwide (NYSE: WYN) today announced that its subsidiary, Wyndham Vacation Ownership (WVO), has acquired privately held Shell Vacations LLC (Shell) and its subsidiaries. Shell is one of the largest independent vacation ownership club and property management groups, serving approximately 115,000 members and 19 managed resorts in North America. The purchase price for the equity of Shell is approximately $102 million in cash. The acquisition also includes $153 million of debt, which is primarily related to consumer loan receivables.
Under the terms of the agreement, WVO assumes property management operations at 19 Shell resort locations in Hawaii, California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Wisconsin, Texas, New Hampshire and Canada. WVO will now also operate Shell Vacations Club (SVC), a leading points-based reservation and exchange system featuring a wide variety of member benefits and travel options, and assumes management of all SVC marketing, sales and financial services activities.

“This tuck-in acquisition is immediately accretive to earnings and generates meaningful cash flow as well as a healthy rate of return. With strong fee-for-service revenues, this acquisition is consistent with our capital-light strategy,” said Stephen P. Holmes, Chairman and CEO, Wyndham Worldwide.
