There are so many things to do in San Antonio…the city today is a mixture of Southwestern influences combined with the bustling city life of a modern American metropolis. The eighth largest city in the United States, San Antonio has more than 300 sunny days each year and an annual average temperature of about 70 degrees.

San Antonio is an outdoor paradise, where you can golf on any of the city's fine courses and visit historical and cultural sites that are as abundant as they are inviting. The number one tourist attraction in San Antonio is The Alamo, where 189 men defended Texas against an invading Mexican army of more than 4,000 troops. The Alamo memorial is downtown, and contains an illustrated history of the mission's past. No stay in San Antonio is complete without a visit to the Paseo del Rio, also known as the River Walk, where cobblestone walkways slip past lush foliage to reveal river-level shops, restaurants and nightlife. The River Walk maintains a European feeling, where sidewalk cafes and boutique stores compete with the river for your attention.

For families with children, there are numerous area theme parks within easy driving distance of Salado Creek Villas, including Sea World San Antonio, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and Schlitterbahn Water Park. In addition to the big ticket parks, San Antonio offers children's museums, parks and exhibits just for kids. Texas Hill Country provides a number of rivers that are perfect for lively canoeing and white water rafting, while nearby lakes offer great fishing, sailing and water skiing. Dude ranches offer a glimpse into the Wild West. Or take on an affordable adventure and go geocaching! Experience the various trails in San Antonio's hill country and discover a treasure or two along the way. Many geocaching adventures await on www.geocaching.com
