For when you are ready for more culinary experiences, Inn at the Opera is ideally situated near many fine San Francisco restaurants. Here are just a few of your choices:

Absinthe
398 Hayes St
San Francisco, CA 94102
(415) 551-1590

Absinthe Brasserie & Bar is one of the most romantic and popular fine-dining establishments in San Francisco, serving classic and creative upscale American-influenced French brasserie cuisine for lunch and dinner. The establishment also offers late night café dining Tuesday through Saturday and brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Reservations are recommended.

Hayes Street Bar and Grill
320 Hayes Street
San Francisco, California 94102-4421
(415) 863-5545

Hayes Street Bar and Grill is a neo-traditional fish house in San Francisco's Civic Center district, across the street from the Performing Arts Center - opposite Davies Symphony Hall and a block from both the Opera House and City Hall. Patricia Unterman recalls, "Richard Sander, Anne Haskell, Robert Flaherty and I opened the grill because in 1979 there simply wasn't a good choice for dinner before the opera, ballet, or symphony. We wanted such a place ourselves, so we created a restaurant that would prepare unfussy food, casual enough to work before a performance, but substantial and tasty enough to be a main event.

Caffe Delle Stelle
395 Hayes St
San Francisco, CA 94102
(415) 252-1110

Conveniently located by Symphony Hall and the Opera House Caffe delle Stelle is the answer for some of the best Italian food in San Francisco. "The upbeat, rustic ambiance and inexpensive Tuscan specialties have attracted a huge local following. Recalling a neighborhood grocery store in Italy, the dining room displays tall stacks of tomato cans, olive oils, pasta boxes, and Chianti cases which act as both decoration and room dividers. (415) 252-1110

Suppenküche
525 Laguna (at the corner of Hayes and Laguna)
San Francisco, CA 94102
(415) 252-9289

Suppenküche is not an ordinary restaurant: it is more like a traditional German Wirtshaus. The atmosphere comes not only from the aesthetics of the restaurant itself but also from the people: the conversations they have there warmed by the heartiness of the food. Our food is simple, honest in every detail and prepared very traditionally- without combining tastes that diminish the intensity of the meal. People leave the Suppenküche satisfied.

Crepe House

429 Gough Street

Cafeteria style dining offering a selection of sandwiches, salads & their specialty - crepes.

Flippers

482 Hayes Street

Delicious Hamburgers in a laid back atmosphere.
