Horseshoe Ski Resort

Carriage Ridge Resort's suites are Ski-in/Ski-out on the ridge of Horseshoe Resort's awesome ski trails including 304 feet of vertical rise, 28 exciting runs, 5 chair lifts, 2 carpets, a terrain park perfect for testing your skill, a half pipe for snowboarding, night skiing, nightboarding, and night tubing.  Horseshoe Resort's ski trails are only a short drive into the valley from Carriage Ridge and Carriage Hills Resort.

Mount St Louis Moonstone

Fifteen minutes away from Carriage Ridge and Carriage Hills resort, is the Mount St Louis Moonstone Ski park perfect for skiing and snowboarding all-day!  At Mount St. Louis Moonstone there are over 170 acres of skiing with 40 slopes, 9 chair lifts and a terrain park with 2 half pipe runs and 3 carpets.

If you're just beginning to learn how to ski Mount St. Louis Moonstone has one of the largest practice terrain in all of Ontario. For the pros, skate and snowboard through Super Pipes  and show off your skills performing rail lines, battleship rails, c-rails.  Or test your skill in the two terrain parks: The Junkyard, and the Outback.

Hardwood Ski & Bike

Only 8km away from Carriage Ridge and Carriage Hills Resort is the Hardwood Ski & Bike recreation area. Experience Hardwood's newly created trail system which consists of 10 different paths which range in length from 3.3km to 19km. There is definitely a trail for every skill level whether you are a beginner or a pro.  If skiing and snowboarding is not in your repertoire try out the brand new snowshoe trails.

Yamaha Adventures, Snowmobile Tours

Get outside to enjoy Canada's winter land on a Yamaha Phazer or Yamaha Venture Lite snowmobile! Provided with your experience: really warm Yamaha snowmobile suits, boots, gloves and helmets. Riders will experience a fun, safety course before venturing out on the trails with our professional instructors.

Snowshoe Ecotours & Wye Marsh

It’s all about keeping on the move, being completely engaged and having lots of fun while playing outside. Our naturalists promise you this with the Winter Ecotour adventure.
Move: Enjoy a 3 hour, 3-4km snowshoe trek into the woods of Wye Marsh
Engage: Learn about animal tracking, tree identification, hands-on winter survival & fire starting techniques, research updates & more.
Fun: Learn how to navigate your way through the Marsh using a GPS and get the group back.
And to wrap it all up you will feast on hot chocolate & hot-dogs over a hot fire…that you made!
Note: Snowshoeing is weather dependent; a hike will be substituted if snowshoeing is not possible

Rolling Sands Percherons-Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides & Wagon Rides

Outdoor Ice Skating-Bring your skates--Enjoy Public Skating at Barrie City Hall!
It’s time to sharpen those skates! Soon the fountain at City Hall will be transformed into a skating rink. The rink is scheduled to open on Saturday, December 7 and will be open 7 days a week from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. until March. The site offers parking and heated change rooms. Skaters are reminded that hockey is not permitted.
The projected start date and hours of operation are dependent upon weather conditions and are subject to change. 

FAT BIKING has arrived in Horseshoe Valley!

It is winter and a lot of the normal riding haunts have been blanketed by snow. But this doesn’t mean you have to stop riding. Only minutes away from our resorts by car, enjoy this new favorite activity. Adventure onto the many Nordic ski trails of Horseshoe Valley on these big wheeled bikes and enjoy the trails and beautiful scenery. Trail passes available 7 days a week when Nordic trails are open. Rentals also available and includes helmet.  Guided rides also available for beginners and advanced riders on Saturday and Sundays.
