Over the years, the Top of the Park Penthouse has hosted over 400 weddings, and for each one a memory that will last a lifetime. Our dedicated staff has worked closely with every couple to make their wedding dreams come true. And we're proud to say that we've never had a single complaint! Manuel Wedding
My husband and I have been frequenting your restaurant for lunch for the past year. We have always enjoyed it. The food is delicious, the view is spectacular and the service has always been wonderful. Because of all of these factors, we decided to be have our wedding there.
On September 14, 2003 we were married at the Top of the Park. It was a lovely Sunday evening ceremony and I simply must take the time to express to you how fortunate you are to own such an amazing establishment. It is truly magnificent. The penthouse area is absolutely gorgeous. Our room was decadent. However, it is your exemplary staff that deserves the highest accolades.
Upon meeting with Jim Harmon, we knew immediately that this was no ordinary catering director. He procured lists, names, places and contacts for every possible request that I gave to him, or rather threw at him. And there were many. On an almost daily basis. He was attentive to every detail, even the ones I could not possibly have imagined. From coordinating table linens, to choosing florists and photographers, arranging tastings, choosing favors, the bathroom amenities that my guests truly appreciated and I would not have thought to provide, to the almonds that everyone devoured, even the seating arrangements. The list could go on forever. He had safety pins in his pockets, thank God. He fixed my veil and gave us all mints. He was the last person I saw before I walked down the aisle. There was not a single element missing on our wedding day, and I truly feel we owe that to Jim. Every bride should be so lucky, to have a Jim holding their hand. We have developed what I am sure will be a lifelong friendship. We absolutely love him. You are so very lucky to employ such a remarkable, giving, sincere and kind human being.
We were also lucky enough to have Fernando, Tony, Paul and Jeffrey working that evening. We have had the pleasure of their service on numerous occasions at lunch. They were absolute perfection. Impeccably dressed, professional and gracious. Our guests raved about them! They were so personable and fun. I see Tony often and we always hug and talk. It's just amazing to me that you have so many wonderful people under one roof.
I would also like to mention Jay, our fabulous chef. He spent three hours with us at our tasting, explaining everything, answering questions and basically making it a wonderful evening for us. We had no idea we were in for such a treat. He is an incredibly talented chef. Everything that he prepares is simply delicious and our food was no exception. I still receive phone calls about it. Often, the food served at weddings is less than average. Ours was above and beyond!! If we ever have an event catered, there is no question about whom we would call! He is just wonderful.
Mark, our baker, is also employed at your hotel. I must say that his cakes are the absolute best I have ever had! And our cake table was absolutely breathtaking. The cake was phenomenally beautiful and the way Jim and Mark set all of it up was just stunning. Everyone commented on it. And certainly everyone ate it, even the strict vegetarians made an exception. We have since requested a small one just for our own pleasure!! We will be asking for an anniversary replica from him as well. He is just fabulous.
Obviously I cannot say enough about your staff. They are all so kind and so full of enthusiasm. We are like old friends now, hugs and kisses and sincere conversations. You rarely find that in such a large volume in one place. Our wedding was an event not to be forgotten by all who attended. We are forever grateful to those who helped to make it so incredibly perfect and beautiful. I sincerely hope that this letter reminds you that although your hotel itself is gorgeous, it is truly the people in it that make it spectacular!

Guerreri Wedding Reception
Dear Jim,
Thank you and thanks to all of the Inn at the Park staff that took part in our daughter's wedding reception. We have nothing but praise for everyone involved, including the busy downstairs restaurant that accommodated our unexpected needs as twelve of us rolled in after the reception, hoping to be able to sit and carry on the moment.
And thank you, Jim, for coordinating every detail to perfection… The decorating and layout, the presentation and quality of the food, the "flow" of the evening, the service, your interaction with outside wedding providers, as well as your personal attention to us at every moment. Also appreciated was your willingness to share tips and suggestions throughout the planning process, all of which helped to make our event at the "Top of the Park" a lovely memory for our friends and family.

Shelby and JC's Wedding
Dear Jim,
We just received the video of Shelby and JC's wedding and we are so pleased that we want to thank you and all the staff at the Inn at the Park Hotel for a very memorable experience.
From Shelby's early months of planning with your expert guidance to the final day, it was an incredible, painless and satisfying journey. Given the distance and the e-mailing we were faced with, we soon realized that the Inn at the Park staff was truly very capable and up to the task.
For weeks after the wedding we were still hearing comments from family and friends about "the best wedding" they had ever attended.
The buffet, supervised by Jay, was incredible. The waiters and bartenders could not have been more attentive. As for Mark's chocolate raspberry/strawberry cream wedding cake, it was just superb. Karla constantly talks about that cake and how wonderful it was.
We can't thank you enough for your caring, attention to detail and patience. The Inn at the Park Hotel and Jim Harmon will always hold a special place in the hearts of the Anderson's and the Leininger's.

Now that the dust has settled from the wedding I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the beautiful occasion and a long lasting, happy memory. Your professionalism and attention to detail carried us through what could have been a very stressful day. Even the weather didn't dampen our spirits and I was comfortable knowing you had it all under control and it would turn out perfectly. And it did Jim, thank you so much! From the start of the day to the end, it was a magical affair and the best part of all, it was tailored to Rochelle and Don. The DJ was fantastic, the ceremony was touching, the rose petals showered on the bride and groom – a great idea, the gorgeous view, all the amenities included with the wedding package! Your helpful tips made it run smoothly. The missing flowers moment of panic was taken care of quickly and the cake looked wonderful!
I appreciate everything you did for us Jim, as does my family and I hope to run into you from time to time in Hillcrest. After all, I work right down the street from the hotel! I would highly recommend the Inn at the Park Hotel to anyone planning a smaller, intimate wedding. The guests were so impressed by the location and view and elegance of the hotel, the food was wonderful, (one guest told me it was the best food she'd ever eaten at a wedding!) well, I could go on and on. My husband wants to do it all over again (um, no!) but that's a big compliment coming from him.
Your escorting me to the wedding ceremony, it helped me regroup and immerse myself in the wonderful moment of my daughter getting married. That was special and unexpected and just what I needed.
Using the Inn at the Park Hotel for Don and Rochelle's wedding site was the smartest decision we ever made. Thank you, thank you, thank you for our perfect day!

I loved working with Jim, the catering manager at Inn at the Park Hotel, and everyone from the chef to the waiters to the fellows at the front desk were wonderful. The day went beautifully. We had a buffet dinner – green salad, spinach salad, roasted red potatoes, chicken Jerusalem on rice (creamy sauce with mushrooms), veggies, as well as roast beef, which was carved for each guest. There were two guests with allergies who received a different meal which they provided at no extra cost. I met with Jim twice before the big day and he's organized thoughtful, and gives good suggestions. He always says, "it's your wedding so we'll do what you like." He also has a fun, quirky sense of humor so I enjoyed working with him very much. I brought some chocolate maple leaves with me to be served with the wedding cake, and Jim made sure that it was done. When my family asked questions, he'd drop whatever he was doing and take care of their needs. If I absolutely had to find something to criticize, I'd be hard pressed to do it, but they did offer to bring us a plate of food to our room at the end of the night and somehow it didn't show up. I'm sure it was just an oversight, and not a big deal at all.
I would definitely recommend Inn at the Park Hotel highly to every bride out there. You will not be disappointed.

From our introduction, to signing the contract, to the sampling dinner, to the many questions I telephone him about, up through the evening itself, Mr. Harmon consistently demonstrated a high level of professionalism and resourcefulness, thus feeling comfortable about selecting the Park Manor Hotel as the venue for my husband's party. We just got married here on June 23rd and loved every minute of it.. Jim Harmon was a god send.. He made sure everything ran smoothly and we didn't stress and I couldn't ask for anything more.

Perfect Wedding Venue with Old World Elegance
We visited/interviewed nearly every venue in San Diego when selecting the perfect location for my daughter's wedding. Frustration level was maximum until she saw Park Manor, and she knew immediately that she had found her perfect location. We didn't want a cookie cutter hotel or wedding reception, and Park Manor has the wonderful architectural bones with European influence which we love ..from the warm brick facade to the high ceilings, spacious rooms, tall windows, French doors. We loved the elegant lobby and felt wedding guests would feel the same effect. The reception area on the rooftop accommodated approximately 125 people nicely. A wedding ceremony at sunset and then the reception by candlelight and beautiful dimly-lit crystal chandeliers provided the most intimate, elegant, old world charm which is exactly what we wanted. Park Manor is so fortunate to have Jim Harmon as wedding/catering director. A wedding consultant wasn't needed because we relied on Jim's savy wedding knowledge, sense of style and outstanding work ethic. He was always there for us, and we never had to compete for his attention. That said I'd like to mention the excellent staff was friendly, efficient and accommodated our every wish. The rooms were clean and comfortable; wedding guests who stayed at the hotel were pleased with their rooms. Cuisine is excellent as is the brunch offered each morning. There are outstanding views from the rooftop, and we loved the idea of each suite having a kitchen.
