Ontario may be inland, but it offers some of Canada’s best beaches. Wasaga Beach – a 35-minute drive from our resort – is the longest freshwater beach in the world. Family-friendly and featuring eight beach areas with separate parking lots, Wasaga Beach is the perfect place to enjoy Georgian Bay’s beautiful waters. The Barrie and Orillia waterfronts offer large beach areas, along with boardwalks, picnic areas, jogging trails, marinas and scenic views.
Experience the exciting adventure sport of Treetop Trekking, located only minutes away from our resort. You will travel through fun and challenging courses high above the forest floor and cross ziplines - including the 900 foot Big Zip - for an unrivalled adrenaline rush. Stride along the top of the trees with the use of rope bridges, zip lines, climbing nets, footbridges, swings and more.
Reel in a record catch on Lake Simcoe or Lake Couchiching, both located just a short drive from Carriage Ridge Resort. Attend the famed Orillia Perch Festival, held annually, or embark on a sport fishing charter trip from Orillia or Barrie. Lake Simcoe is home to large populations of Pike, Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass.

The King’s Wharf Theatre, located on the shores of Georgian Bay, presents the region’s finest live theater in summer-only showings. Visit the 115 year-old Orillia Opera House known for its fantastic acoustics, great theatre, and famous music performances. Georgian Downs offers harness track racing in the summer months, and an array of art and history museums. The MacLaren Art Centre, the Stephen Leacock Museum, and the Orillia Opera House offer indoor escapes from the summer heat.
