Inside the Inn at the Opera, Ovation at the Opera restaurant features duck breast sautéed with shallots, luscious rack of lamb and many other sumptuous French inspired appetizers and entrees. *Some big changes are happening at the Inn at the Opera. Ovations Restaurant is closing on Sunday, May 6th, and will be replaced with a new restaurant called Pläj (pronounced play). "Seasonal, Local and Fresh" is their philosophy and we are certain that their quality of food and service will be appreciated by our guests. The restaurant space will be undergoing a "refresh" with new paint, carpet, seating, etc., and will be closed from May 6th, with it reopening around June 15th. The hours of operation will be expanded to 5pm-11pm daily – room service will follow the same hours. This will be a wonderful new experience for our owners and guests, as it will be a top notch restaurant with excellent food and service. Our morning breakfast service will be affected for a short period, as we will have to move this to the lobby during the make-over and essentially it will become a "to-go" breakfast until the restaurant re-opens. We are very excited about this great new opportunity for our guests and community.

Hayes Street Bar and Grill is a neo-traditional fish house in San Francisco's Civic Center district, across the street from the Performing Arts Center - opposite Davies Symphony Hall and a block from both the Opera House and City Hall. Patricia Unterman recalls, "Richard Sander, Anne Haskell, Robert Flaherty and I opened the grill because in 1979 there simply wasn't a good choice for dinner before the opera, ballet, or symphony. We wanted such a place ourselves, so we created a restaurant that would prepare unfussy food, casual enough to work before a performance, but substantial and tasty enough to be a main event.
